A few months ago, I was in Rocheste. Late on night, I
sensed a mana explosion to the northwest, where Ainle is.
You're familiar with mana explosions? They're exactly
what they sound like...magical explosions of mana.
Only magicians can detect them. They occure when an
inquisitor uses a pentacle of destruction or some other
equally powerful magic. But the explosion that night
was different, more soul-ripping, as if the dimensions
themselves were being torn open.
(Reilly takes another swig of his brandy.)

If they summon some evil power...or summon
Morrighan from another world... Who cares?
