Story Dialogue Summary
The Strange Traveler is trying to give an introduction to Quick Story mode, but makes the issue confusing by not mentioning key points until the very end. This explanation attempts to reorder the information. Some of the information is also covered in Guide_Story_-_Grow, which players likely encounter before this story.
- Open the Story window. (Click scroll icon or use shortcut key M.)
- Some stories in the list are followed by an icon that incorporates an exclamation mark. Clicking that icon starts the quest in Quick Story mode. This means:
- If the next step in the quest is to talk to an NPC, you will be teleported to the NPC and the conversation will commence immediately.
- When the conversation ends, in some stories you may be automatically teleported to the next NPC you need to talk to. If this doesn't happen, it is worth checking the story window to see whether the story has an icon you can use to teleport to the next relevant NPC. If the next step is to complete a battle rather than talk to an NPC, use the Depart Window instead.
- The Strange Traveler confusingly refers to Quick Story mode as allowing you to talk to the NPCs remotely, as if your position does not change, but as you can verify at the end of the conversation, your location has changed.
- The Strange Traveler also states Quick Story mode may bypass some parts of conversations.
- It is alleged that players can initiate Quick Story mode by clicking on the icons in the Story Hints window. Alas, unless you have a high resolution screen, the Story Hints window overlaps the Chat Window, making it hard to use, so it is simpler to use the Story window.
