Types of Transformation
There are two types of Transformation. Each of them has a 1st and 2nd stage. The provided stats can be viewed on the respective pages.
Paladin
Dark Knight
Comparison
For a comparison between the two Paths, see Paladin vs. Dark Knight.
Fervor or Impact
- Fervor - increases Additional Damage
- Impact - increases Impact Speed
In most cases it's going to be Fervor for ranged or havely based on counterattack characters and Impact for melee characters. For melee characters Additional DMG has a much bigger influence at DPS, than Impact Speed. But an unusual choice is also possible, based on the features of the character.

| Fiona | Impact | Despite the fact that she often uses counterattacks, she has a high frequency of melee attacks. |
| Evie | Depends on play style | If Staff: Fervor.

Resetting a choice
Path skills reset (including a choice between Fervor and Impact) can be made by talking to the Strange Traveler at the Colhen's Inn by selecting "Other -> Reset Path Skill".
PP (Path Points)
- PP (Path Points) are used to activate the Transformation. Each use of Transformation requires 100 PP . You can store up to a maximum of 300 PP.
- Current amount of PP can be seen at the bottom of the any Transformation skill tooltip.
Sources of PP
- Over time: Transformation Points increases by 1 per minute while below 100 points.
- Leveling: Each level grants 100 Transformation Points.
- Battles: Each battle grants a minimum of 7 Transformation Points.

*Abyssal Arena provides 20 PP per floor, up to 10 floors. **Chunk Runs refers to non-raid battles in Donegal and Aidan.
TP (Transformation Points)
Unlike AP skills that require "Action Points" gained through missions, to level up the Paladin and Dark Knight transformation skills used TP (Transformation Points). It is an entirely different resource from PP.
Sources of TP
- Transforming: Using the Transformation Active grants you 25 TP.
- Damage: Dealing damage from any source while transformed grants TP, up to a maximum of 75 per transformation.
- Guild Skill: The TP Gain Guild Skill provides a [5%/10%/20%] increase in TP gain, depending on the rank.
The maximum TP gain per transformation is 100 TP, or 120 TP with the Rank 3 Guild Skill.
TP will only be received when:
- The mission's boss has been defeated.
- Leaving the mission.
- You are dead.
- Timer has run out or manually canceling the transformation.
Notes
- The The Fomorian Leader is the most efficient battle for gaining PP. However, it does not give TP.
- While leveling, you may opt to use Transformation as often as possible to prevent wasting excess PP.
Story
Paladins and Dark Knights are soldiers that fight for the goddess, and are given incredible power to do so. The knowledge to become one is held by the Silent Brotherhood, and they will only pass the knowledge to other members.
Though it may seem that Paladins are good and Dark Knights are evil, this isn't the case. As Brynn says in "The Light and the Dark – a Vindictus Prelude", "Light is not Good. Dark is not Evil." Instead, Paladins and Dark Knights are mostly divided based on their answers to the following question (from Pact: Decisive Action): "Do you think it is right to kill for the oracle? Do you think that is what Morrighan truly wants?" Those who are willing to kill in the search to find paradise become Dark Knights, and those who are not become Paladins.
